Cricket

The main sport practiced in Stratfield Turgis is Cricket. Stratfield Turgis and Hartley Wespall Cricket Club were founded in 1812 and play regular fixtures at the cricket ground in the center of the village.

There is an annual friendly inter village cricket match between Stratfield Turgis and Hartley Wespall. The last match was played on 28th August 2005 resulting in an honourable tie and Stratfield Turgis retaining the cup. For the full scorecard click here.

Football

League football is well represented in the area with professional clubs in Reading and Basingstoke.

Golf

There are a number of local golf courses. Sherfield Oaks is the closest just 5 minutes away with Tylney Park a close second. There are a host of other courses in the surrounding areas.

Horse Riding

Wellington Riding Stables are just 5 minutes away (a bit longer by horse) catering for all your riding needs.

Jet Skiing

Available at Lagoona Park 20 minutes away, located here.

Tennis

Tennis is available locally in Sherfield on Loddon and slightly further afield at Old Basing Tennis Club and Hampshire Centre Court Hotel.
