This page describes the footpaths within Stratfield Turgis and the surroundings, and highlights some of the beautiful walks along them.
Footpaths

Wiithin Stratfield Turgis itself there are 11 numbered footpaths.
Footpath 1. Running from it's junction with Bylands Lane near Daneshill School, north east into the neighbouring parish of Heckfield
Footpath 2. From the north side of the A33 between Turgis Green and the Jekyll and Hyde to intersect Footpath 4 up to Turgis Court and All Saints Church via Footpath 5.
Footpath 3. From the north side of the A33 beside the old Telephone Exchange to intersect with Footpath 4 up to Turgis Court and All Saints Church via Footpath 5.
Footpath 4. From Potters Lane beside Potters Cottage running north east to Turgis Court and All Saints Church via Footpath 5.
Footpath 5. From Footpath 4 near Turgis Court running parallel to the road ending at All Saints Church.
Footpath 6. From Turgis Court across the ford and new bridge then alongside the Loddon ending up joining Stratfield Saye Footpath 3 running up past Heywood Farm.
Footpath 7. Running from the A33 up Potters Lane past the Fisheries to Lillymill Farm.
Footpath 8. Joins Footpath 7 to the A33 opposite Floods Farm via Footpath 12 and Sherfield Footpath 1.
Footpath 9. Actually a bridleway running from Turgis Court up to the road to Stratfield Saye near Broadford Bridge.
Footpath 10. From south side of the A33 at Spanish Green to join Hartley Wespall footpath 20 and to St Mary's church at Hartley Wespall via Hartley Wespall Footpath 19.
Footpath 12. Short link from Footpath 7 to Footpath 8.
Last but not least is the Footway running alongside the A33.

There are a number of beautiful walks around Reading to be found here. This includes a walk from Bramley to Hook skirting Stratfield Turgis.
Slightly further afield Defra (The Department for Food and Rural Affairs) promotes a number of conservation walks and rides across permissive paths. Long Distance walking
The nearest long distance path follows the Basingstoke Canal towpath. More information available here.
There's also the Berkshire Way. A walk across the county of Berkshire from Lambourn to Windsor, split into manageable sections.
