Stratfield Turgis Parish Meeting

Stratfield Turgis has a grand total of 68 electorate (Dec 04 figures), and worryingly the government forecast is there will be 66 by 2009. 

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Councillors

The Boundary Commission is reviewing the current ward and councillor structure Stratfield Turgis is now in  the Pamber and Silchester ward. (Previously Stratfield Turgis was in the Calleva ward of Basingstoke and Deane District). (Click here for ward map).

Hampshire County Councillor

Stratfield Turgis is in Calleva and Kingsclere (Basingstoke and Deane District) (12766 electorate). The current councilor is Keith Chapman (Conservative) who was elected in May 2005.

Member of Parliament

Stratfield Turgis is in the North East Hampshire Parliamentary Constituency.  The current MP is James Arbuthnot (Conservative), who was elected in May 2010.

Members of the European Parliament

There are 10 MEPs for the South East constituency. The voters in each constituency vote for their preferred political party and the available seats are shared between those parties depending on the proportion of the vote that they are given.

MEPs have an increasing role in deciding what the laws of the European Union should be and also keep the actions of the European Commission and other Europe-wide bodies under review.
