Minutes of the Stratfield Turgis Parish Meeting

Held on 8th October 2009 at 5pm at Potters Cottage

Present:

Mrs Sheila Campbell in the chair, Mr Simon Boase, Mr Jonathan Coyle, and Professor Robert Walker

Apologies:

 

The minutes of the meeting held on 26th August were approved.

09.10.1

 

Matters arising from the minutes

 

a

CEEF grants. We have received £450 for the bench but our application for a map board was not approved.

 

b

Lease. Sheila has received an email from Ed Sutcliffe.  She will meet with him to understand their aspirations.

 

c

Speed limits. We have had 13 replies to the survey all supporting the implementation of village 30 at Turgis Green.

 

d

Bank Documents. Sheila is chasing NatWest to resolve the change of signatures on the account.

 

e

Farm machinery.  This has been moved.

 

f

Taxi scheme.  Sheila is awaiting a call from these people.

Planning.

Sheila has replied agreeing in principle to the plans for All Saints Church but listing a number of caveats

Finance.

 

a

Cheques. Approval was given to pay the audit fee.  The bill for the crocket pavilion is £5803.00. The cricket club are activating the offer of a grant from Hampshire Playing Fields Association

Budgeting 2010/11. It was agreed that the next meeting would be a budgeting meeting.

Plan and Risk Register. Held over for next meeting

Meeting with HCC safety team.  A meeting was held at Turgis House with the HCC safety team at 4pm on 8 October.  This was generally felt to be a positive meeting and the HCC team agreed to provide us with the following

  • An internal sign warning people of the dangers of turning right out of the north exit of the garage
  • To contact Barry Ford re a sign for the recreation ground
  • To provide us with a list of contacts
  • The traffic speed and volume data for the relevant stretch of the A33
  • To mention us at the A and B road review
  • To write to local businesses about the timing of the next phase of work
  • To write to the meeting in connection with the complaints raised by Mr Coyle.
    • This information has yet to be received and Mr Coyle is chasing it.

Correspondence.

 

a

Rights of Way. HCC is merging the areas and use contractors to clear footpaths.  Simon is reviewing which of ours should be a priority

 

b

Email from Mark Housby. We have received an email confirming that there are no plans to make the A33 a dual carriageway.

 

c

National Grid. Have written to us confirming that they will be working on the pylons in the village

 

d

Outdoor exercise equipment. A brochure has been received and noted, offering outdoor exercise equipment. It was agreed to take no action.

 

e

CPRE. Will be holding their annual super on 11 November at 7:30pm

 

f

Basingstoke & Deane Transport Forum. Will be meeting on 19 October

Clerks correspondence

 

a

Invitation to participate in a trial for a transport survey.  This will be filled in by Professor Walker.

 

b

Survey and review of charter between local and county councils.  The link to the online version will be emailed out and each member will draft a response.

Community forum. This is now live and Simon will put a link on the website and advertise in the Loddon Valley Link.

Village Walk.  A very successful village walk was held on 4 October

Numbers for the village social were tentatively agreed to be 16 at £7.50 per head.

Simon is going to talk to Paul Sedgwick about the village pond.
